Ategi Volunteers Roll Up Their Sleeves for The Big Help Out

On 2nd June 2026, people supported by Ategi, staff, volunteers and members of the local community came together to take part in a community litter pick in a South Gloucestershire park as part of The Big Help Out.

Armed with litter pickers, gloves and plenty of enthusiasm, the group spent the day helping to make the park cleaner, safer and more enjoyable for everyone who uses it. The event provided an opportunity not only to improve the local environment but also to bring people together, build connections and demonstrate the positive impact that community action can have.

The Big Help Out is a national initiative designed to inspire people to make a difference through volunteering. Ategi was proud to support the campaign by encouraging people to get involved in an activity that benefits both the local area and the people who live there.

Throughout the day, participants collected discarded litter from pathways, green spaces and recreational areas, helping to preserve the natural beauty of the park and create a more welcoming environment for visitors. The activity also provided a chance for people supported by Ategi to develop confidence, contribute to their community and work alongside others towards a shared goal.

The event reflected Ategi's commitment to supporting people to live their lives, their way, while creating opportunities for meaningful participation, connection and belonging within local communities.

One participant said:

"It felt good to do something positive for the community. We worked together, met new people and made a real difference."

Ategi would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed their time and energy to the litter pick. Their efforts helped demonstrate the power of volunteering and the important role that individuals can play in caring for their local environment.

We look forward to taking part in more community activities in the future and continuing to make a positive difference together.
