A day of connection at Denbies Wine Estate

On 2 October, Ategi Shared Lives brought carers, the people we support and members of our team together for a special catch-up event at the beautiful Denbies Wine Estate, in Surrey.

With sunshine, beautiful surroundings and plenty of tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake, it was a lovely opportunity to slow down, catch up and spend time together away from the usual day-to-day.

For our carers, it was a chance to meet members of the Ategi team face-to-face, share experiences, celebrate what’s going well and talk about some of the challenges they encounter. Just as importantly, it gave carers the opportunity to get to know one another, share ideas and make new connections.

The day was also about celebrating the difference Shared Lives makes. The conversations, stories and achievements shared throughout the event were a wonderful reminder of what can happen when people are given the right support, encouragement and opportunity to live life in their own way.

Bringing people together matters. Shared Lives is built on relationships – between carers, the people they support, families, friends and the wider community. Days like this give those relationships space to grow.
