Ategi takes part in Great British Spring Clean
Ategi teams in Cardiff and Buckinghamshire have rolled up their sleeves to support this year’s Great British Spring Clean, making a positive impact in their local communities while boosting team wellbeing.
Colleagues from Ategi’s Head Office in Wales took to the Taff Trail in Pontypridd, collecting an impressive 10 bags of litter from around the office and nearby access points. Their efforts were supported by local councillor Cathy Lisles, who kindly provided equipment for the day. The team’s contribution has helped improve a well-used community space, benefiting both residents and visitors.
Meanwhile, the Buckinghamshire team focused their efforts on Penn Woods, a location chosen for its proximity to the office to maximise local impact. Although the area proved “annoyingly tidy,” the team still managed to collect two full bags of rubbish. The group described the experience as enjoyable and rewarding, with one team member noting it was “great for team morale—something different and nice to be away from the laptop for a little while.”
The initiative forms part of Ategi’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and employee wellbeing. All staff are given one fully paid volunteering day each year, encouraging them to take part in activities that support local areas and causes they care about.
Litter picking offers a range of benefits beyond environmental impact. Spending time outdoors and engaging in practical, shared tasks can improve mental wellbeing, reduce stress, and strengthen team connections. It also fosters a sense of pride and ownership in local spaces, helping to build stronger, cleaner communities.
This marks Ategi’s third litter pick of the year, with plans to make it a regular activity. Future events aim to involve not only staff but also the people Ategi supports and the wider community, creating more opportunities for connection and collective action.
