Who Are We Looking For?  

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, lived experiences, and professions. Diversity strengthens our board, and we actively encourage applications from underrepresented communities.

While no prior trustee experience is required (we provide full induction and ongoing training), we’re particularly keen to hear from professionals with expertise in:  

  • Human Resources: Experience in strategic HR, organisational development, or change management. Support Services: Background in psychology, behaviour support (NCS, BACP, MBACP), or clinical care.   
  • Communications & Engagement – Experience in strategic comms/ CSR/ crisis comms/ branding/ digital growth
  • Legal & Risk Management: Qualified solicitors, lawyers, or compliance experts with knowledge of charity law, safeguarding, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Support Services: Clinical psychologists, behavioural specialists and people with experience working with adults with additional needs (NCS, BACP, MBACP, etc.).      

But above all, we’re looking for people who care—individuals with empathy, integrity, and a passion for social justice.  

Your Role as a Trustee   

As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Ategi remains effective, ethical, and impactful. Your responsibilities will include:  
  
🔹 Strategic Leadership – Help set the long-term vision and direction of the organisation. 
🔹 Governance & Compliance – Ensure we meet all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. 
🔹 Impact Oversight – Monitor the effectiveness of our services and champion continuous improvement. 
🔹 Ambassadorship – Promote Ategi’s work within your networks, helping us grow our reach and resources.  
  
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll receive full support from our CEO, senior team, and fellow Trustees. We believe in empowering our board members with the tools, training, and confidence to lead with purpose.  
 
No Experience? No Problem!  
  
Many of our current Trustees started their journey with little or no knowledge of charity governance. What mattered most was their commitment to our cause.    

All you need is the willingness to learn, contribute, and make a difference.
