Head of Administration and Company Secretary
Karen joined Ategi as a Finance Assistant, having worked in the banking industry for 23 years. She completed her AAT qualification and was looking for something completely different and she found it at Ategi. Karen loved the values of the organisation from the start and has been on an interesting journey where she has been supported to develop within the organisation.
13 years on, she is now the Head of Administration and Company Secretary and works with the Trustees and Executive team of Ategi to ensure the good governance of the organisation and that Ategi complies with company and charitable law.
Karen works with the Executive and Senior Leadership teams with the development and management of a range of information systems and ensures all company policies and procedures are up to date, current and comply with the legislation and regulations for the sector.
She manages the administrative function for the organisation ensuring consistency of systems and processes throughout all areas and manage, and take responsibility for central office facilities and contracts relating to the organisation.
Karen says she feels very lucky in her role as she gets to meet lots of the people that are important to Ategi; our staff, our carers, the people we support and external organisations that we work with.
In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and enjoys long walks in, and around, our lovely countryside and coasts. Karen also loves sport and regularly attends rugby and football matches.

Connor has spent the last 7 years working in the third sector and has led a regional older person’s charity as its Chief Officer for the last 5 years. Connor has significant knowledge of the challenges facing the health and social care system, particularly around issues facing older people.
Chris has over thirty years’ experience in working in the health and social care sector, including 18 years as Chief Executive Officer of one of the larger third sector charities supporting people with learning disabilities and their families.
Putting people at the heart of decision making and advocating for their rights has been at the core of his approach.
